Non, Non, Monsieur ..

The perfume creations of the couture house Givenchy have always represented something exceptional, special, avantgardistic. Even and especially around Christmas. To launch and celebrate these signature fragrances in my responsibility as General Brand Manager on the German market has meant joy, pride and pleasure to me each time.

The classic

In 1957 Hubert de Givenchy, the legendary founder of the house Givenchy, created his first great scent composition, L’Interdit. This perfume Hubert designed for his muse and friend Audrey Hepburn, the unforgotten iconic woman and actress.

Some stories entwine around the naming of L’Interdit which literally means ‘the forbidden’. One of them tells that Hubert de Givenchy originally wanted to name the perfume after Audrey, but she denied with the words ‘non, non, Monsieur, c’est interdit’.

The modern

50 years later the house Givenchy launched a new interpretation of this classic, provocative in its composition, timeless elegant and sophisticated, and in the style of a true Givenchy haute couture dream enrobed in a noble flacon.

‘Forbid yourself nothing.
Allow no rules.
Defy convention.
Embrace your singularity.’

– thus la maison describes the vision unleashed by its perfume creation.

Floral woody in its olfactory composition like the classic, the new fragrance surprises with contrarily notes revealing a blend of white flowers and a dark accord.

Sparkling Jasmine stars in both scents. Embedded in a sensual bouquet of heart notes from tuberose and orange blossom, with ginger in the head note, it meets in contrast the mystic, earthy base tones from vetiver grass and patchouli.

And this beautiful fragrance’s dress? As if a design signed by de Givenchy himself the flacon’s shape is as truly timeless as incredibly modern.

.. To this scent I feel addicted.
