An anytime highlight in our wardrobe: the newest seasonal shoe trends! And as a true shoeaholic as well as up-to-date fashionista for sure I love to present you my absolute favorites for spring/summer 2021. Here comes my top list!
Trend 1: The perfect drapery
Twisted, knotted, pleated – these preferred designs for dresses, blouses, skirts and even knitwear in this spring/summer season thankfully are also finding their way into show fashion.
The two most sophisticated models in this top category are presented by Saint Laurent and Jimmy Choo.
The tie-the-knot mules of Saint Laurent inspires us in variations of sunny yellow. Buttery-soft leather folds into the Jimmy Choo sandal – simply irresistible!
Trend 2: High heels’ little sister
This spring kitten heels finally make their breakthrough. On the one hand more comfortable than my always beloved high heels, on the other the ladylike alternative to flats, the kitten heel is characterized by 3 to 5 cm high stiletto and a narrow tip.
Its origin they say goes back to 1661 when it was first manufactured for the French royal house. At the start made for men the kitten heel through the years became a popular woman model. Carried by First Ladies like Jackie Kennedy or famous actors like Audrey Hepburn, it turned more and more to a true fashion item.
My favorite for this season is the Aquazurra interpretation in soft nude tones with a beautiful mesh detail.
To style the outfit not too kitschy or too stuffy but ‘cool’ I like to combine my kitten heels with flat jeans.
Trend 3: A graphically charming summer
The square-toe sandal is another trend sticking around and a cute way to frame your feet.
My season’s highlight in this category is the Bottega Veneta slingback sandal and comes in pretty pastel colors. And it would not be Daniel Lee if such a fashion item has not been combined with other trends: statement-making lacing and chain details which add some subtle shine.
Trend 4: Vintage casual
For a few seasons already sneakers have been a fixed component in our everyday shoe repertoire. However this season I have to say: With a litte – luxurious – upgrade please!
Chloé fortunately has transferred a trend from fashion to the accessories sector and decorates the house’s sneakers with beautiful designs made of lace in white and nude shades. Vintage chic at its best!
